This week, the Words Out Loud Spoken Word/ Poetry Series will be hosting a fun open mic and literary trivia quiz with poet-readers, Peter Filkins and Antoinette Brim-Bell. This event will take place Friday, November 5, at 7:30PM on Zoom.
Peter Filkins has released five books of poems, his most recent, Water/ Music, which was regarded as a “diverse display of formal dexterity, narrative power, and lyrical resonance” in the Johns Hopkins University Press. His 2012 work, The View We’re Granted received the Sheila Margaret Motton Best Book Award from the New England Poetry Club. You can find his poetry in The Paris Review, The New Criterion, The New Republic, and The Sewanee Review. He also currently teaches at Bard College.
Antoinette Brim-Bell is a collage artist as well as a poet. She is the Professor of English at Capital Community College.She has written the poetry collections, These Women You Gave Me, Icarus in Love, and Psalm of the Sunflower.
